All mums and dads want their youngsters to be happy. In order to do that, you may go out to work to help pay for nice vacations, give the kids treats, buy those expensive toys that all their mates seem to have and the trendy clothes they want.

Then, you become a really trendy parent because you land what your kids consider to be the best job – in my case that was working with mobile phones for one of the well known mobile phone companies. I got the opportunity to bring home mobile devices which were not yet on the market, working with the latest technology, helping to locate bugs before the mobile devices got to the shops. I was the uber-cool mum!

How, then, do you advise your kids that due to the recession, folk are not purchasing as many mobile devices and the company is down-sizing, closing your site, and with this news, your work is disappearing. You will become one of the many redundant workers looking for new employment. Not only are you no longer employed with cutting technology, you now need to find another career – for you any employment will do, but for the youngsters they still want to have the uber-cool mum. Lots of their chums’ mums are teachers, nurses, shop assistants. Their mum was special and they don’t want to lose that status.

So, you go through vacancies, Online Jobs, job centre vacancies, agency vacancies, you dream about employment, your whole life revolves around getting that next role. Then a little star shines at you. You have located what you think may be your ideal new career. It is an opportunity to start an Internet Business, with a new technology, and at the same time Work From Home. Maybe you have seen something that suits you and appeals to the kids at the same time.

When I was reading the Online Jobs, I came across an opportunity to join an Internet Business as a franchisee, which was actually affordable, so I did some investigations to be certain that the work was as it appeared in the advert.

This new venture was in the field of search engine optimization. It informed me that I would need only basic internet skills, and all training would be included in the price I paid. As I have recently been taking Open University training in ITC, which overlapped with some of the skills which would transfer to this job, I was ready to find out more.

I had interviews and meetings with the founder of this franchise and we were both pleased for me to join this Internet Business.

Another bonus was that I would be able to Work From Home. I already had a phone, computer, internet connection and access to a printer, which are really the only tools necessary to set out in this venture. Within weeks of seeing this opening in the Online Jobs, I had started my training. My youngsters are happy that I am once again working with cutting edge technology and they love the fact that they can tell folk I am now the owner of an Internet Business where I have the opportunity to Work From Home. Cool mum continues!

The cost of fuel has significantly increased recently. Annual car tax is no longer a “one size fits all” outgoing for drivers. Toll roads are in place and the fee for using these is also rising. Car insurance premiums have gone up. All in all, the costs involved in running a car in the UK today are high, they have gone up much more quickly than wages.

There is another side to this coin. The expenses we as individuals are incurring are also being felt by companies running public transport. I travel each week to London from Newcastle upon Tyne and currently to arrive at the railway station and purchase a return ticket, the price is over £250. Added to this is the charge for an underground tube ticket plus car parking at Newcastle upon Tyne railway station. Get a drink and snack on the train, each way, and the outlay for a day in London is in the region of £300.

How can many of us actually afford to lose £300 from their weekly pay in commuting costs? It is not surprising, therefore, that many people are choosing to Work From Home. With faster broadband links and affordable PCs, it is becoming a much more practical option to select to work for an Internet Business who specialize in agreeing to allow their staff to Work From Home.

Some people may want to remain with their current company, but not have to sustain the daily fees involved in travelling to work. They could speak with their managers to see how feasible it would be to do Online Jobs so many days a week from home, commuting to work fewer times per week.

For those who chose to work for an Internet Business and Work From Home on a permanent basis, they could immediately see financial benefit over the cost of getting to work on a daily basis. Perhaps this change could remove the necessity to have a car completely. Maybe they could obtain a smaller, more environmentally friendly car. If they were using buses, this will no longer be a weekly cost.

You could end up with an extra £1000 in your pocket, each month, just because you chose to check out the Online Jobs and located one that suited you. It is a sobering thought!

There are so many choices for anybody who wants to Work From Home, and as the Internet Business increases there are more and more Online Jobs to choose from. Use any search facility on your laptop and you will get many results. If you have a specific job in mind, search for that. If you are unsure and just want to see what choices are available to those wanting to Work From Home, make your search more generic.

For some people, it may be that they can not find the money to immediately resign from their current role, but are interested in running their own Internet Business. It would perhaps be necessary to retrain prior to being able to wholly Work From Home. In this case the cost of getting to work can be seen as a short-term loss, with a finish date, prior to being equipped to fully embrace the Online Jobs which will see an end to the daily travelling.

Finding employment opportunities has never been easier than now- with the consistent and constant growth of the Internet. Using the Internet, job seekers can simply find vacancies of their choice in the location of their choice. With a simple click of the mouse, a huge list of job opportunities is literally at their fingertips.

Once upon a time, the only way job seekers can find jobs is by browsing the classifieds section of the paper. This method of job seeking is not only tiring (what with the small prints) but it is limited within the area where the job seeker is residing. Job seekers who wish to find employment outside of their state or county will have to get their hands on classifieds of the state itself. Although this is not an entirely tough thing to do, but at the end of the day, you would have to sort through a huge stack of newspapers just to find the job that you want!

One of the most amazing things about finding employment on the Internet is that job seekers can sign up a membership account. Membership accounts are usually free, but with the free job seeker account, the options are limited. With a paid job seeker accounts, you’ll have more freedom and can place more information and details into your portfolio. However, millions upon millions of people have successfully found their dream jobs by using the free membership accounts offered by these employment agencies.

With an account with the employment website, the job seeker can place their personal information, contact details, education history and history of employment directly into the website’s database. Some employment websites even allow job seekers to place their recent photos into the database, which is useful to the employer, for verification purposes. With the entire resume placed in the database of the employment website, the job seeker searches through the database of vacancies in the website. A simple search can be done through the employment website’s search engine. You can fine tune the search by category, location, country, area of expertise, job type, and more. Interested job applicants with their resumes in the database will only have to log into their employment account, click apply, and the resume will be automatically sent to the potential employer.

Compare this with the way things were done about a decade or more ago; in order to apply for a job, you have to type a whole cover letter individually, print out your resume and send it by post. Although this task is not very hard to do, but it limits the choices of the job seeker down; and the process is slow, if the application actually reaches the employer or not. The postal industry did not have such a smashing record at that time.

As you can see, finding employment on the Internet is not only free, it’s extremely convenient. On top of that, you can search, browse and apply any time you want, irregardless of whether it’s office hours or not! 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – the employment website is available to every single one of their job seeker members.
